Alysia and Tom’s wedding was an elegant affair at a venue that brought together their love of Newport and sailing – The Bohlin Newport.  This was an extra special wedding for me because Alysia and I used to work together in my pre-photography days so I’ve known her for years!

I met Alysia early in the day at the Wellington where she was getting ready with her girls, while my second photographer, Amanda, was with the guys at the New York Yacht Club (NYYC).  All of their details were gorgeous!  Alysia’s dress was custom made and had tons of beautiful layers sweeping down from the waist.  Tom’s Alton Lane suit was also custom made with a sailing motif inside the jacket and impeccable details.  After everyone was ready we had the first look and wedding party pictures at the NYYC.  It was such a great view from the back lawn there with sweeping views of the harbor and Newport bridge!  Alysia and Tom then headed to the Bohlin via water shuttle to get ready for the ceremony.  Right in the heart of downtown Newport RI, the Bohlin has a pier right at the end of the wharf and the ceremony was right on the water.  The clouds gave us some cover from the sun on the hot day, and I love the images we got of them on the edge of the pier with all the sailboats in the background!  The reception was steps away in the beautiful open tent that allowed guests to enjoy the gorgeous summer weather and the beautiful nighttime vista.
